Mrs. Kentzell's Bio
Hi Winters! I'm Meg Kentzell, the sixth grade English and Reading teacher. I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with so many excellent students! I began teaching in California, and while licensed there I taught second, third and fifth grades. I also spent a year in Big Spring, TX as the third grade ELAR teacher. My husband Steve and I moved here this past summer, and we already love this town. I received my Texas Educator certification in August, just in time to come to the Winters Secondary campus. Please feel free to reach out for me during my conference period 11:15-12:00 every day.
THIS SIX WEEKS
We are studying fiction and drama. Students are writing their own short story. We have also heard some high school level stories and interpreted them and analyzed the plot and character traits. Students have read several classic pieces of literature set 100's of years ago. Our Honors class is reading "Of Mice and Men" and will be introduced to Shakespeare.
